My thesis closely examines the targeted spaces within his novels and establishes a view to achieving a comprehensible understanding of the protagonists’ gradually finding their regional sensibility in socio-cultural, economical, and political spheres in the Indian region, especially in Bengal.For the purpose of analyzing the presence of these elements, the following novels of Amit Chaudhuri are taken: A Strange and Sublime Address, Afternoon Raag, Freedom Song, A New World, and The Immortals.
